How long have you been in business?
In business here since 1985. Other restaurant experience since 1973 and other business experience since about 1960 when my Dad took me to work with him.
What is your primary product or service?
General American menu, specialties included fresh dipped Fish & Chips, Coney Island hot dogs FLINT style, the famous large Gillie Burger and Breakfast 24 hours. We also take pride in using REAL money (silver accepted and sold). FREE Wireless internet access!
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Worked at a Coney Island to get thru college, then was hooked on the fast pace friendly social atmosphere. (Coney Island is local name for a style of Family restaurant that also serves chili dogs).
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We're one of the few still using the old FLINT style QUALITY ingredients for our Coneys. Koegels VIENNA (they sell cheaper/smaller ones) 7 inch bun topped with ABBOTTs special grind of MEAT (Detroit style usually has little to NO Meat). FRESH Chopped Onions (not the pre made cheap ones) and our burgers are always made with FRESH PATTIED Abbotts quality grind.

How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One takes my full concentration with no expansion plans. The best independents need handson owner working most days.

Dort Hwy is also known as Dixie Hwy or State Highway M-54.
What type of payments do you accept?
CASH is our favorite!!, well, second favorite, SILVER is the preferred payment. We also accept most all Debit / Credit Cards, Euros and Canadian Dollars AT PAR, and BARTER, Travelers Checks but no other types of checks.
Which areas do you service?
Serving Local businesses and residents, and much of the North half of Genesee County. and the traffic up down Dort Hwy. Which includes Cross Roads, Genesee County Parks and Auto City Speedway visitors, FAST easy access to Down Town City of FLINT via I-475 Dort/Steward exit then two miles north.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Owned by David Gillie & family. Run by several managers who have been here more than two DECADES. Libby, Misty, Mary and Corrina.
What are your hours of operation?
24/7, all day every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas. and the rare remodel project.
